Universal key generation is not the same as vehicle enrollment
Generation prepares a supported universal key for a selected application using compatible equipment. Vehicle enrollment is a separate stage: a prepared key is not automatically authorized to start your car. The universal key type, software coverage and exact vehicle system all matter. Ask the technician which parts of preparation, cutting, programming and testing are included rather than treating generation as a complete replacement job.
Three deliverables can hide inside one phrase
A request to make a car key can involve preparing a compatible electronic credential, producing its mechanical blade and establishing the required relationship with the vehicle. Not every job uses the same sequence or all of those stages. The important point is that completing one stage does not establish the others. Ask what the proposed service includes rather than treating the word generated as proof of an operating replacement.
What the equipment description actually tells you

That distinction is useful when reading a tool advertisement: several functions can exist within one device without becoming one universal operation. Consider a component supplied before the appointment
A seller may describe a universal key as already prepared for an application. The technician still needs to assess whether the actual supplied component is suitable for the vehicle and intended procedure. Preserve the seller's description and report any earlier attempts to use the part. Do not treat packaging language as a substitute for verification, particularly when the vehicle has replacement security components or an uncertain key history.
Ask about the endpoint rather than the screen label
A progress message on programming equipment can describe a completed operation within a larger workflow. The customer-facing endpoint is the agreed credential functioning on the vehicle. Have the provider explain any remaining cutting, enrollment or testing work before considering the job complete. If a procedure stops, preserve the exact state and explanation rather than assuming a generated key should already perform every vehicle function.
Use a complete service description
