Can a missing car key be removed from memory?
Some vehicle systems support removing missing keys from electronic authorization, but the method and scope depend on the exact vehicle. Ask what the process disables and which retained keys must be present. Electronic removal does not physically change a mechanical door lock.
Explain which keys are missing
Tell the provider how many keys were supplied originally, which ones remain and whether you believe the missing key was stolen. The technician needs a clear description of the desired result, not just a request to add another key.
Separate electronic and mechanical access
If a missing key has a cut blade, removing electronic authorization may not stop that blade from fitting the door cylinder. Discuss the mechanical lock separately if changing that access is important. Do not assume one programming operation changes every access method.
Confirm retained keys after the session
Bring the keys requested for the procedure and test each one afterward. Ask for a clear explanation of what was completed and what could not be verified. Keep your new key count recorded privately for future service.

Separate engine authorization, remote buttons and mechanical blade access when discussing a missing key. A procedure can affect an electronic function without changing the door cylinder.
